Take a look at this section of the COPLFR.SAO wiki article. * https://battleacts6us.ca/wiki6us/COPLFR.SAO#Step_5:Work_of_Others.28Opinion.29 If that doesn't answer your question, let me know. I don't think you had to specifically mention "a…

You can find a link to an example AOS right near the beginning of this section of the wiki. * https://battleacts6us.ca/wiki6us/Odomirok.16-17-SAO#Chapter_17_.28Actuarial_Opinion_Summary_Supplement.29

You definitely won't get free points on the real exam! (Corrected, thx!)
-
Corrected, thx!

The Odomirok text calls it the "Actuarial Opinion Summary Supplement" and the COPLFR text just calls it the "Actuarial Opinion Summary". I edited that question to say "Actuarial Opinion Summary Supplement". Thx.

You're not the only person who wondered about this. This exact question was asked in the thread for COPLFR.SAO. Here's the link to the question then scroll down for my answer: * https://battleacts6us.ca/vanillaforum6us/discussion/288/2018-f-23

That question was a little tricky. The Porter text does not mention "employee pension liabilities" but I believe the reason it is excluded from consideration in that exam problem is that guaranty funds are for reimbursing policyholders. Employee pen…

Lol. It took me a minute to see what you were doing but now that I get it, it's easy to remember. I will link to it from the wiki. Thx! (I just looked up the B-36 and apparently it's also called the "Peacemaker" which is rather Orwellian.) …

I think the person who created the 2017-Fall Q19a exam question just copied the bullet point list given on the first page of chapter 23 of Odomirok Financial Reporting. Those 3 bullet points are more accurately "FAIR VALUE OF LOSS AND LAE RESERVES".…

Sorry for the delay in responding. I had oral surgery this week. I don't have the version of COPLFR from prior to 2014 so I can't look it up. It's either an error in the examiners' report or a change in standards. If you want to be safe when you …

Sorry for the delay in responding. I had oral surgery this week. The official exam question is outdated but there's an updated discussion at the link below. That is all that's available regarding that specific exam question: * https://battle…

Sorry, I forgot to do it. It's done now.

It was a bit of an unfair exam question. There's a detailed discussion of this question in the wiki here: * https://battleacts6us.ca/wiki6us/COPLFR.SAO#Step_6-A:Company-Specific_Risk_Factors.28Relevant_Comments.29 I think they would have ac…

That's an error in the examiner's report. See foot note in the BattleTable for 2016.Spring:
-
You just have to memorize the new definition. Which BattleCards are you referring to?
-
Reconciliation to Schedule P has always been part of the SAO, which is what's mentioned in that exam problem. This new "complicated mapping of data" looks like a much more detailed explanation versus a simple reconciliation.
-
Oops, fixed. Thx!
-
I think that's a reasonable way to answer the question. I can't speak for the graders, but I would give credit for that.
-
Actually, I thought I did update that question to be consistent with the current standards: * https://battleacts6us.ca/wiki6us/COPLFR.SAO#Step_1:Definition_of_Qualified_Actuary.28Identification.29 Are you asking something beyond what's alre…

For reference, this is the link to the Bright Line Indicator Test: (which you have probably already read so this is for anyone else reading this post) * https://battleacts6us.ca/wiki6us/Bright_Line_Indicator_Test I don't think what you wrot…

Corrected, thx!

It sounds like you're saying the same thing, just in different words. The key idea was that stock companies can raise money quickly by issuing stock .

I like it! Thx! * https://battleacts6us.ca/wiki6us/Vaughan.Crisis#Lessons_for_State_Insurance_Regulation

Take a look at a couple of possible solutions here: * https://battleacts6us.ca/vanillaforum6us/discussion/500/new-question-rbc-and-sao-may-not-be-simple-enough#latest

Yeah, I think might you have a point. I will look at that tomorrow.
-
Yeah, those mean the same thing. Don't stress over it!
-
Sorry, I had not done that for my own practice exam.
-
Corrected, thx! Alice gave you a shout-out here: * https://battleacts6us.ca/wiki6us/Excel_Practice_Problems#Past_Exams

Ok, so we're good? Let me know if you're not.

I think for these 3 BattleCards, it's semantics how you phrase the answers to them, and I also don't think the source text and the examiner's report is on a mathematically firm foundation in terms of logic so there's leeway in the interpretation. …
